Cheryl is renowned for the 2017 \"glitter ban\" that brought global media attention to a simple crafting product that represents the ever-growing problem of microplastics in the marine environment.<\/p>\n<p>Since then Cheryl, through Tops Day Nurseries, has become a champion for <strong>sustainability in the early years<\/strong> - carrying out local beach cleans, investing in renewable energy, electric vehicles, real nappies and more, whilst working hard to cut out the use of all single-use plastics in the day-to-day operation of her businesses. As a result of all this hard work Tops Day Nurseries has become the first day nurseries in the UK <span>to become a certified B. This is particularly important as you need to remember, not everyone will have the same sustainable mindset as you.<\/li><li><strong><span style=\"color: #008080;\">Be realistic -<\/span><\/strong> No one can change the world overnight. The amount of changes and how quickly they are implemented has to be each businesses individual choice, but changes take time, effort and research.<\/li><li><strong><span style=\"color: #008080;\">Change philosophy -<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: #333333;\"> When proposing changes in your business in a bid to become more sustainable, you will first need to think about the reasons why you want to make the change. The reasoning behind the changes is what needs to be communicated initially, so it is important that you have an answer to everything.<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"color: #333333;\">\u00a0<strong><span style=\"color: #008080;\">Support -<\/span><\/strong> Colleagues will undoubtedly have questions about any new changes that come in to play, especially if they don't have a clear understanding of the reasoning behind it. It is important that information is shared in detail, support from managers and the senior team is available as well as any resources...
