While globalisation has spread predominantly European-American models of \u201cbest practice,\u201d ESD emphasizes integrating <strong data-start=\"475\" data-end=\"509\">local and indigenous knowledge<\/strong> into formal education, ensuring cultural diversity is respected.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"578\" data-end=\"950\">ESD takes a holistic approach \u2014 linking environmental, social, and economic sustainability \u2014 and promotes values, participation, and critical thinking from an early age.
