{"id":4702,"date":"2024-01-31T10:00:27","date_gmt":"2024-01-31T10:00:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/gecco.org.uk\/blog\/?p=4702"},"modified":"2026-06-23T16:27:16","modified_gmt":"2026-06-23T16:27:16","slug":"electric-cars-making-the-difference","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gecco.org.uk\/blog\/2024\/01\/31\/electric-cars-making-the-difference\/","title":{"rendered":"Electric Cars &#8211; making the difference!"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"et_pb_section_0 et_pb_section et_section_regular et_block_section\"><div class=\"et_pb_row_0 et_pb_row et_block_row\"><div class=\"et_pb_column_0 et_pb_column et_pb_column_4_4 et-last-child et_block_column et_pb_css_mix_blend_mode_passthrough\"><div class=\"et_pb_text_0 et_pb_text et_pb_bg_layout_light et_pb_module et_block_module\"><div class=\"et_pb_text_inner\"><p>In a bid to reduce carbon emissions, Tops Day Nurseries started investing in electric cars in 2017 for their staff to use when needing to travel at work (see\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.topsdaynurseries.co.uk\/tops-day-nurseries-goes-greener-electric-cars\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Tops Day Nurseries goes greener with electric cars<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>More recently, their hard-working Health and Safety team have been undertaking ESOS Phase 2 assessments across the business.<\/p>\n<p>If you have not heard of ESOS (Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme), it is a government established energy assessment scheme for organisations in the UK; every 4 years, assessments must be carried out and these audit the energy used by buildings, industrial processes and transport to identify cost-effective energy saving measures.
