As the months go on it is starting to get a lot warmer here in the UK! We have come up with some top tips that can help you and the little ones cool this summer!

Drink lots of water

Drinking lots of water throughout the day helps to keep your body temperature down. Your body functions best within a certain temperature range. When you get to warm your body needs to cool down and one of the best ways to help your body cool down is by drinking cold water. Drinking water helps to replace fluids lost by excessive sweating

Mix up your frozen treats

Another great way to keep cool is by eating frozen treats such as ice lollies, however these can get a bit boring and are packed full of sugar. Why not try making your own ice lollies with yogurt and fruit?

Use your fans wisely

Fans are a great way to keep cool as it allows air to keep moving around.  Why not try to put a bottle of frozen water in front of the fan to blow cooler air around the room?  Why not try making your own tent? Place a fan in front of the opening of a duvet cover and allow the air to fill the tent!

Blinds and Curtains

Try keeping your blinds and curtains shut during the times you aren’t at home to prevent heat from making its way in. Another great way to help is by investing in blackout curtains. Blackout curtains block sunlight and naturally insulate the rooms in which they’re in.

Use your doors

Shutting rooms that you don’t use that much is a great way of helping to keep your house cooler and stop the cold air getting into these unused rooms.

Switching your bedsheets

During the summer months, it is better to use cotton sheets instead of flannel or fleece. Cotton is a better alternative as it breathes easier and stays cool throughout the night time.
